During this presentation, I tried to show how Bangladeshi immigration to Europe was connected with the civil war in Libya. I published more in-depth research about this topic in an article.

On March 16, 2018, I gave a lecture at a workshop organized by Master students in international relations at the law center of Lyon University III. My presentation focused on China’s as a world environmental leaders.
Students made a very good job and questions were interesting.

I recently wrote a small article on French president’s visit to China and his ambitions to become China’s privliged interlocutor on the Belt and Road initiaitve in Europe. It is the good time now for France to seize this opportunity!

On the occasion of the second edition of the MEDports Forum 2018, held in Marseille on February 7-8 2018, I was invited as speaker at a round table devoted to the opportunities offered by the “Belt and Road” initiative to Mediterranean ports. I focused mainly on the BRI network structure and emphasized the impact of this project on emerging economies in Africa and Asia.

In early January 2018, president Macron made an official visit to China. The French president wanted France to be involved in China’s new Silk roads to become China’s leading interlocutor in Europe, and support innovation. France and China may cooperate on green developement.

In 2017, Shenzhen authorities decided to go electric. Only electric buses will now operate in China’s most innovative city.

Presentation entitled: “Le développement de l’industrie des jeux en Asie: un enjeu touristique (Gambling industry development in Asia: a touristic challenge)”, at the EHESS, Paris, in the seminar offered by Prof. Xavier Paulès, December 18, 2017.
In this presentation, I focused on the factors of recent gambling destinations development in Asia, and argued that these destinations are very dependent on the Chinese market.

In the briefing note no.195, I present China’s current trade policies, especially the “Made China 2025” and the “Belt and Road Initiative”. I explained how these two policies will have a strong impact on world trade and maritime transportation.

Sebastien made a presentation entitled “Belt and Road Cooperation in City Construction Area”; this presentation exposed the housing challenges that most regions of the “Belt and Road Initiative” have to address.
