Macron and China, article in AsiePacifique News

I recently wrote a small article on French president’s visit to China and his ambitions to become China’s privliged interlocutor on the Belt and Road initiaitve in Europe. It is the good time now for France to seize this opportunity!

President Macron’s visit to China

In early January 2018, president Macron made an official visit to China. The French president wanted France to be involved in China’s new Silk roads to become China’s leading interlocutor in Europe, and support innovation. France and China may cooperate on green developement.

I wrote a small article about this subject in TheDiplomat.

Paris, Rome and the OBOR

thediplomat goulardOn 6 March 2017, The Diplomat published one of my articles about Italian President and French Prime Ministre’s recent visit to China. In this article, I argue that European countries need to coordinate their actions and policies regarding the OBOR initiative launched by China.

France’s presidential elections and China

thediplomat goulardIn December 2016, The Diplomat published an article of mine entitled “France’s Presidential Elections: The Need for a China Agenda”. In this paper, I argue that presidential candidates should pay more attention to China in foreign affairs. China is often considered as a threat, whereas more relations with China may create new opportunities for France.
